The Survival Coalition of Wisconsin Disability Organizations is pleased to see that the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved Wisconsin’s Family Care waiver renewal request. Disability advocates had been waiting for the approval during the months of back and forth negotiations between CMS and Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services (DHS).
National Survey Effort re: Transit Bus Wheelchair Ramps

The University of Louisville is undertaking a nationwide effort to improve access to public transit buses. They have received funding from the National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) to conduct a survey to study ramp-related problems experienced by wheelchair & scooter users who ride public transit buses.
